Thanks to Di and Jenny for organising it all.

Outings for 2017

RHS Garden Wisley Saturday 23rd September
We had a wonderful trip to Wisley in September. The weather was dry and bright, even warm at times and there was plenty to see. The gardens around the house and the new exotic garden were still very colourful. The autumn bulbs were at their peak and and there was the added interest of sculpture exhibition throughout the garden. Thanks to Linda for organising the outing and to Jenny and Liz for the pictures.

Members enjoying Barbara's Garden in June

We run a number of outings each year to go and see for ourselves what other horticulturalists are up to.

Our first outing in 2018 was to the Malvern Spring Show in May and our second is to Barnsdale Gardens on 15th September.

In 2017 we went to Blenheim Palace Flower Show  and to the RHS Garden at Wisley - photographs below.

Visits to Members Gardens in 2017

Four members very kindly opened their gardens to groups of club members this year. Vera Ainsworth opened her garden on a lovely day in May and we were treated to tea and cakes in her lovely town garden with box balls clipped to perfection. In June Louise Griew opened her garden in the evening for a glass of wine and canapes and by popular request Barbara Tyndell opened her delightful garden again with sunshine, plants for sale and tea and scones - what more could you want! The final garden opening for the year in July was Catherine Dalloway where we were treated to another very pleasant afternoon admiring her colourful pots and borders with courgette and lemon cake for afters. Thanks to Jenny for the photographs.
