August Meeting and Plant Competition - 7.30pm Wednesday 1st August
Our speaker is Stuart Dixon and the topic is 'Clematis'. Stuart is the Radio Nottingham Gardening Expert and lectures widely. He has his own large cottage garden so has share first hand experience to share.
Don't forget to bring back your Fuschias! It is your chance to compare your growing skills with those of other members. Stuart is going to judge the best and there will be a consolation prize for the one needing most improvement.
Our membership fee is great value at £10 and we hope you will join and enjoy our speakers and shows throughout the year. Membership also gives you 10% discount at Hinton's, Smiths and Russell's Nurseries and on line at www.ashridgetrees.co.uk
Evening Meetings and Outings
The 2018 programme for our evening meetings, together with dates for plant sales and the shows, is on the Evening Meetings page.
Details of our 2018 outings are on the Outingspage. Our first visit was to the Malvern Spring Show on Saturday May 12th. We were blessed with lovely weather and a good time was had by all. Our next visit is to Barnsdale Gardens on Saturday 15th September, cost £24. Barnsdale was the home of Geoff Hamilton. It is now run by his son and has many small gardens and a good cafe. Full details on the Outings page.

Our Spring Show was in April and photos are now on the Shows page. Photos of the Summer Show in July and Plant Competition in August are coming shortly.
In 2017 we held our Autumn Show in September and our Geranium Competition in August. You can see photos of the Show entries and winners and the geraniums on the Show page.
We have had three visits to members gardens this year - Jenny Matthews, Catherine Dalloway and Vera Ainsworth. At each one we were blessed with lovely weather and wonderful cakes. The gardens were excellent too! A big thank you to Vera, Jenny and Catherine. Sadly we have no pictures yet but there are pictures of our outing to members gardens in 2017 on the Outings Page
The Society, formally the Kenilworth and District Horticultural Society was formed in March 1890 to further interest in all matters related to horticulture.
Membership is open to all on payment on the annual subscription. Visitors are very welcome too.
Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:30pm at Wilton Club House, Senior Citizens Club off Abbey End car park. See the Evening Meetings page for more details
